Bad Blogger

When It comes to blogging, I am terrible at it. I honestly would rather write in my journal or Facebook. Its so much less time consuming to just update your status about your life in a nutshell or pour out your heart to a piece of paper that wont ever be able to judge you. I also would rather pick up the phone and talk to someone personally. I do like blogging though because its a place to keep memories, something i am big on.

This Thursday I will be 15 weeks along in my pregnancy and that is also the day we find out more about how the baby is doing, I can't wait. We did get the blood results back from Prob and it turns out he does have the antigen that my body is making antibodies to so that is scary because the baby probably does too. We'll know more Thursday and I'll try to remember to post a blog.

Here are some pictures to catch you up on whats been going on around here.

Our trip to Duluth-Gabriel was so afraid of the waterpark and snuggled me the whole time, I didn't mind that part. The older children had a blast and some very nice people we didn't even know paid for our meal the first day we were there. Thank You whoever you are!We walked the boardwalk on Lake Superior, it was beautiful and the kids loved it!

Gabriel's first time playing outside in the trampoline, he loves outside

Romeo teaching Gabe how to play guns, he seemed to like it to, go figure, all boy already!
Gabriel's first time at the park, he was so happy!

My first knit project, Romeo got me into trying to learn. I am currently working on booties originally for Gabe but I finished the first one and it is too small for him so I guess they'll be for the new baby. The first bootie looks great though.

At the Cambodian temple for the New Year, our first time going since I met my husband, good experience for the children and I also liked it even though it was yucky out.

Gabe just had his first sickness, took him to the Dr and he had an ear infection and a terrible cold, antibiotics are helping him recover. He got to sleep with Mommy and Daddy for 4 nights.

Girls Day

Last weekend I took Romeo on a date. It was suppose to be just him and I but Gabriel ended up with us because Dad was fishing and  Olivia and Grandma were having girl day. We went to the mall and got his ears pierced, had lunch and bought him a few things. He had a good time and was really thankful and sweet.

This weekend was Olivia's turn so she picked a good friend of hers to join us and our day consisted of making homemade pizzas and sundaes and going to see the Justin Bieber movie. I have to say that it was so cute to watch her as she watched the movie. I almost burst out laughing when Justin Bieber took his shirt off and she giggled so hard. To be young again...

Charlotte loved the animals
We had a fun time though and it feels good to be really making a point to spend time with the children as individuals. The only thing that had me dragging a bit was that nausea and queasiness began yesterday and is pretty bad today, its deja vue from last year.

Gabriel of course rolled over completely yesterday when I was gone, go figure. He is just too darn cute, today he drank from a straw and it was so funny, my smart baby boy.

Tomorrow the children have the day off school, not sure what we'll do since we are getting a ton of snow again. Maybe we'll bundle the baby all up and bring him out to play in the snow for the first time, yeah that sounds like a good idea!

Girl Scout Encampment

This past Saturday Olivia's girlscout troop went to the annual encampment at camp lakamaga for a day of fun with other girlscout troops from around the cities. They exchanged pins and did a bunch of different outdoor activities. Prob was a volunteered driver for the troop and spent the day surrounded by hundreds of women and girls and only a few men, what a brave and good daddy! Here are some pictures he took.

While they were doing that, Romeo, Gabriel and I had a mother/son day and went out for lunch and got a chance to just chat and reconnect, we actually had a lot of that this past week since he was home from school sick for 3 days. It was sweet though, he just kept telling me how much he loves me and thanking me for all the spoiling I did to him while he was home. It helped me to realize that we really need to remember to esteem our children as individuals and often.

Otherwise the week and weekend consisted of our normal routine with the addition of our new "son" Robert (Romeo's friend) who practically lives here these days. I'm sure glad I don't have two boys close in age all the time because it gets quite rowdy around here and I am constantly worried someone is going to get hurt with all the wrestling and boy games. Oh well, I'm glad Romeo has someone his age and gender to hang out with.

A new recipe we tried this week was zesty minestrone in the crockpot from kraft recipes, which we weren't too fond of so I wont share that one. I did make chicken stir fry last night which is a favorite in our house and Prob's very own recipe.

Chicken Stir Fry

INGREDIENTS

  • Chicken breast cubed ( how many you want to make)
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • fresh or frozen vegtables of your choice
  • oyster sauce to your taste
In frying pan or wok add oil, garlic, sugar and cook until garlic is slightly brown, add chicken and oyster sauce. Cook until chicken is cooked through, add vegtables. Cook until vegtables are tender to your liking. Serve with white rice. Beef is also good with this recipe.

Another Shower

Jena & I
Yesterday a few longtime friends of mine had a small shower for me. Molly, my grade school friend, recently bought her first house and so I got the chance to see it since that is where they had the shower. It was so nice to hang out and catch up with all of them and it made me realize that even though you may not see people all the time, that true friends are always just that and it is so easy to pick up where you left off. I feel truly blessed to have these women in my life.
Molly grilled burgers and brats for everyone and they had a bunch of other snack type foods, it was really good! Unfortunately I didn't get a picture with Molly which probably was ok with her since she tends to be camera shy, darn!
Today is my Mom's Birthday so I'm going to get started on making dinner for her and Olivia wants to make brownies. I think before that we will take a trip to the dog park so that there will be some peace around here and since our nice days are numbered and I love this fall weather.
More cute stuff for baby!

Baby Shower

So today was my baby shower and the hosts were the ladies called "The Merry Martha's", a group of women that go to the church that my family and I became members of about a year and a half ago now.
When I first started attending this church I also attended their bible study on a regular basis and that is how I got the privilege to get to know this group of woman. I was the only young person who attended their Bible study but they welcomed me with open arms and I made new friends from a different walk of life.  They are so sweet and I am very thankful that they wanted to have a shower for me since I needed so many things still since it has been quite awhile since I have had a baby, so I hadn't saved anything.

The food consisted of two hot dishes, fresh fruit and a beautiful cake. The baby got a whole bunch of nice gifts which included a very nice high chair, clothes, diapers, money and one of the women, "Lupe" had even knitted the baby a sweater with a matching hat. It was  a really nice time.

My Grandmother's
As I get more and more things in these last weeks before baby's arrival I still find it so hard to believe that I am really having a baby. I thought for sure after my last one that we were done. My husband and I decided he have a vasectomy after a complicated course postpartum due to my second child and so we thought we'd always be a family of 4. When we decided to have it reversed because we wanted a third child all these years later we assumed it would work right away. When it didn't after a year of trying and we found out there was a problem with me, I was crushed and we figured that it just wasn't meant to be. I prayed about it and to our shock and delight we became pregnant. During the first trimester I had two episodes of terrible bleeding and everyone thought I was miscarrying for sure, but I didn't. So here we are almost 2 years after my husbands reversal blessed in so many ways and our little miracle from God that we never that would be, will be here before we know it. I just really am thankful for all the wonderful things in my life and am so happy that through love there will be another person to share our lives with! Thank you Lord!
